Long Beach: Challenged America in the Transpacific Yacht Race
In July, I read an article in Sunset about the Transpacific Yacht Race, which is a bi-annual sailing race that goes from Los Angeles to Honolulu. In the article, there was a mention of an all-disabled sailing crew called Challenged America. The day before the start of the race, I went to Rainbow Harbor in Long Beach and met the crew, and got a few pictures. Thanks, guys!

The cabin entrance is outfitted with a special platform that is raised and lowered by motor for people who might have trouble climbing stairs.

These seats have backpack straps and are drilled into the deck.

This is part of a life preserver system - all life vests have tracking devices on them.
